Midway between Marseille and Toulon, our club is situated in one of the most beautiful gulfs of Europe, agreeably protected, where there is just the right amount of wind for sailing.
The Nautical Society of Lecques Gulf has been in business since 1948. Originally used by summer vacationers, the club had witnessed a generally reputable success, having trained about 500 students by 1986. Since 1987, however, our sailing school has taken on a new direction towards a schedule of year round offerings. We’re in operation for the public and students, with courses on nautical life, centres for relaxation, and business retreats. The club has been host to a number of regional, national, and even international regattas. Here are two renowned examples: • The selective “National ‘420’,” a world championship and the junior European championship of 1991. NSLG had welcomed over 108 French and Italian mixed teams at this event. • The highly selective international competition, “Inter Ligue d’Equipe” of 1992. During this regatta we welcomed over one hundred boats from Germany, Spain, Italy, Monaco, Cyprus, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Yugoslavia, Hungry, Turkey, and naturally, France.
In addition, the sailboat population grows from year to year, with nearly a fleet sailing in Leques Gulf. Our client base is also growing with more people discovering sailing, thanks to our great location, good equipment, and our great staff team. Thanks for your continued support and patronage!
